Below are the licensure requirements listed by licensure type. In order to apply for licensure, you must submit an online application, as well as the required documentation.
Verification of Licensure, transcript, and verification from supervised practice program must be sent as official records directly from the issuing agency to the Board office for all applications. The Board may receive them via email (tjeanmarie@lbedn.org) or mail (LBEDN; 37283 Swamp Road, Suite 3B; Prairieville, LA 70769).
Below are the requirements listed by license type:
Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist
- Verification of Licensure from any state in which you hold or have ever held licensure
- Bachelors Degree or higher from a college or university accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges or any other regional accreditation agency with a major course of study in human nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, or food systems management
- Completed ACEND accredited supervised practice program
- Passed Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) exam
- Formal job description if employed in Dietetics/Nutrition in Louisiana
Provisional Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist
- Verification of Licensure from any state in which you hold or have ever held licensure
- Bachelors Degree or higher from a college or university accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges or any other regional accreditation agency with a major course of study in human nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, or food systems management
- Completed ACEND accredited supervised practice program
- Formal job description if employed in Dietetics/Nutrition in Louisiana
- Supervision Form if employed in Dietetics/Nutrition in Louisiana
